Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995

I can't get to set up Tray Helper for Gmail Account.

Can somebody kindly provide step by step pointer?

Just enter tose details in configuration of email account.
To enable SSL click on "More settings" in confugration of account and select proper option on the top of the dialog.

I am also having trouble get my Gmail a/c to work in Tray Helper. I have entered the info in the previous post, but it does not work, it sticks on 'sending authorisation data'. Very ocassionally it will connect but in most instances it will not - help please?

DNS error
Host not found

SMTP server :alt2.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com (default)
SMTP server : 25 (default)

Outlook Express & Microsoft Outlook are not used nor configured. No email Clients is used. Does Tray Helper require an external Email Client to work along with.


Please assist further.

I recommend to disable in Tray Helper option to check Gmail account in bacground due to BUG in Gmail implementation of POP3 as described for example here:

Is there still a problem after following those instructions?
