Hi :)
I have added this suggestion to my to do list.

From other hand: before last updates of Internet Eplorer issued by Microsoft it was possible to open secured sities via entering authentication data in URLs like this:

http://user_name:password@www.mysite.com

Very best regards!

I don't know what authentication sheme is required at your site - but I was able to check password protected site via this method.

In my case site is protected by BASIC authentication method on Apache Linux server.

Used convenction was:

http://username:password@www.mysite.com/ProtectedPage

Please note the ":" that separates user name and password.

Very best regards!
Irek
