I can successfully receive my messages but I get the relaying error, 550, when I try to reply or send mail.

I have the correct smtp for my Pipex account (smtpauth.dsl.pipex.com) and all my other details are correct but I still cannot send. I get the message 550 and it says I am not smtpauth.dsl.pipex.com.

I use Outlook normally to collect from all my accounts, including Virgin, Tesco and Pipex, so I know to use the Pipex smtp settings (Pipex are my isp)

Can you please suggest what the problem might be?

Hi :)
Most likely you have not enabled SMTP authentication (or entered there wrong data). SMTP authentication can be set in properities of email account / more settings / SMTP authentication.

Hi,
I have tried it with and without authentication and the result is the same. My smtp settings are exactly as required and it still says I am not smtpauth.dsl.pipex.com

I have never seen this wording before, I have seen the error 550, this I know is what you get when you try to send an email through an account other than the one you are connected with. My Outlook works fine if I use the same smtp setting of smtpauth.dsl.pipex.com (as instructed by Pipex)
